Picking just 5 titles for this list of best anime was really difficult, but our team of experts eventually came up with the top titles. We took several things into consideration when choosing our 5: Did the anime leave its mark on the culture in a meaningful way? Did they influence the industry and genre? And, of course, did we just like them?
1. Haikyu!! ハイキュー!!
Haikyu!! (ハイキュー!!, Haikyū!!, from the kanji "volleyball") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate. The story follows Shoyo Hinata, a boy determined to become a great volleyball player despite his small stature. It was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2012 to July 2020, with its chapters collected in forty-five tankōbon volumes.
An anime television series adaptation by Production I.G aired from April 2014 to September 2014, with 25 episodes. A second season aired from October 2015 to March 2016, with 25 episodes. A third season aired from October 2016 to December 2016, with 10 episodes. A fourth season was announced during the Jump Festa '19 and was planned for release in two cours, the first cour of 13 episodes aired from January to April 2020, and the second cour of 12 episodes aired from October to December 2020.
Four original video animations (OVA) episodes have been released. OVA 1: "The Arrival of Haiba Lev" was released on November 9, 2014, while OVA 2: "VS Failing Grades" was released on May 2, 2016. Two new OVA episodes, OVA 3: "Land vs. Sky" and OVA 4: "The Path of the Ball", will adapt the Tokyo Nationals qualifiers story arc from the manga series. The new OVA episodes were released on January 22, 2020.
Haikyu!! Tsunade! Itadaki no Keshiki was released on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on September 25, 2014. Haikyu!! Cross Team Match was released on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on March 3, 2016. 2. Dr. Stone
Dr. Stone (stylized as Dr.STONE) is a Japanese manga series written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by the South Korean artist Boichi. It was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump from March 2017 to March 2022, with its chapters collected in twenty-six tankōbon volumes. The story follows teenage scientific genius Senku Ishigami, who plans to rebuild civilization after humanity was mysteriously petrified for 3,700 years. Viz Media licensed the manga in North America. Shueisha began to simulpublish the series in English on the website and app Manga Plus in January 2019.
An anime television series adaptation by TMS Entertainment aired from July to December 2019. A second season of the anime series focused on the "Stone Wars" arc aired from January to March 2021. A third season is set to premiere in April 2023. A television special title Dr. Stone: Ryusui premieres in July 2022.

As of April 2021, the Dr. Stone manga had over 10 million copies in circulation. In 2019, Dr. Stone won the 64th Shogakukan Manga Award for the shnen category.
Director Shinya Iino expressed that one of the challenges with adapting the series into animation was determining how the backgrounds would appear in a different medium. He would go on to state that Boichi had provided his assistance by sending his own rough sketches as a way to facilitate the adaptation process. Iino would also state that the theme of science featured in the manga captured his attention to the series as it wasn't a theme that was featured in many other shonen series.
In December 2020, it was announced that a smartphone game based on the series would be released in 2021. The game will be developed by Poppin Games Japan and will be a strategy game with elements of open world games, role-playing games, and raising games. Here is the link to watch Link DR. Stone
3. Mob Psycho 100
Mob Psycho 100 (Japanese: 100, Hepburn: Mobu Saiko Hyaku) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by One. It was serialized on Shogakukan's Ura Sunday website from April 2012 to December 2017. It has been also available online on Shogakukan's mobile app MangaONE since December 2014. Shogakukan compiled its chapters into sixteen tankōbon volumes.
An anime television series adaptation has been produced by Bones. The first season aired between July and September 2016, followed by a second season, aired between January and April 2019. A third season is set to premiere in October 2022. A live-action adaptation aired from January to April 2018. A spin-off manga series, titled Reigen, was serialized in Shogakukan MangaONE app in 2018.
In North America, Dark Horse Comics licensed the manga for English publication in 2018. Meanwhile, Crunchyroll licensed the anime series for streaming, with an English dub produced by Bang Zoom! Entertainment in December 2016, and broadcast on Adult Swim's Toonami block in October 2018.
Mob Psycho 100 had over 1.2 million copies in circulation as of July 2016. In 2017, the manga won the 62nd Shogakukan Manga Award in the shnen category.
Mob Psycho 100 by ONE began in Shogakukan's Ura Sunday webcomic magazine on April 18, 2012. It has been also available on Shogakukan's mobile app MangaONE since December 2014. The series finished on December 22, 2017. Shogakukan compiled its chapters into sixteen individual tankōbon volumes, released from November 16, 2012, to July 19, 2018.
Dark Horse Comics announced on April 23, 2018, that they have licensed the series for English serialization in North America, with the first volume which was released on October 24, 2018.
A spin-off manga series titled Reigen was serialized online in Ura Sunday website and in the MangaONE mobile app starting on March 19, 2018. Shogakukan released a compiled volume on February 19, 2019. In March 2020, Dark Horse Comics announced the acquisition of the manga for English-language release. The volume was published on December 2, 2020.

Death Note (Japanese: デスノートHepburn: Desu Nōto) is a Japanese shnen manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. Tells the story of Light Yagami, a teenage genius who finds a mysterious notebook called the "Death Note", which is owned by a shinigami (god of death) named Ryuk, and gives its user the supernatural ability to kill anyone when writing his name on it. The series centers on Light Yagami's attempt to use the Death Note to turn the world into a crime-free "utopia" by posing as a justice-enforcing god named "Kira" (キラ, Japanese translation of the English word: killer) and the efforts of a special force. law enforcement, consisting of members of the Japanese police led by L Lawliet, a mysterious international detective, in order to catch and end a series of terror from Kira.
Death Note was first published in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump manga magazine from December 2003 to May 2006. 108 chapters were bundled and published into 12 tankōbon volumes from April 2004 to July 2006. An anime adaptation aired in Japan from October 3, 2006 until June 26, 2007. Consisting of 37 episodes, the anime was produced by Madhouse and directed by Tetsurō Araki. A light novel by Nisio Isin based on the series was also published in 2006. In addition, various video games have been released by Konami for the Nintendo DS platform. The series was also adapted into three live-action films released in Japan on June 17, 2006, November 3, 2006, and February 2, 2008, as well as a television drama in 2015. Light Yagami who is the main character in the anime and manga Death Note is also considered one of the strongest anime characters. This is because just by writing Light Yagami's name he can kill his opponent without the need to physically fight. This is also supported by the number of fans and the mass media who declare L as the strongest character in the anime world.

5. Dororo どろろ
Dororo (どろろ) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by the manga artist Osamu Tezuka. Tezuka's childhood memory of his friends pronouncing dorobō (どろぼう, "thief") as dororo inspired the title of the series.[5] Dororo was first serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shōnen Sunday between August 1967 and July 1968, before being cancelled. The manga was then concluded in Akita Shoten's Bōken'ō magazine in 1969.
A 26-episode anime television series adaptation by Mushi Productions aired in 1969. The anime series bears the distinction of being the first entry in what is now known as the World Masterpiece Theater series (Calpis Comic Theater at the time). Dororo was also made into a live-action film in 2007. A 24-episode second anime television series adaptation by MAPPA and Tezuka Productions aired from January to June 2019.
A live action film directed by Akihiko Shiota was released in 2007.
Developer Sega made a Dororo-based video game for the PlayStation 2 console in 2004. It was released in the United States and Europe under the title Blood Will Tell. The game's artwork was done by renowned manga artist Hiroaki Samura. Dororo was not very successful commercially or critically, scoring a 69% average at GameRankings.
